Tutor Responsibilities




What is the Responsibilities of the Tutor? 

A
“First Impression Count”. Remember that students and their parents will judge you by your appearance. Be smartly dressed! Remember, a smile is worth a thousand words!
B
Show your highest qualification to the parents during your first lesson. This is to avoid them from making the wrong judgment.

Punctuality. Be at least 5 to 8 minutes early. In the past, many tutors were terminated due to punctuality issues.
D
Record the time ‘in & out’ in a booklet for the student to sign. This is to avoid lost of payment due to missed calculation. It happened in many cases.
E
Always be prepared for each lesson. Keep up with the latest school syllabus.

Most parents will prefer Tutors to provide worksheets & model answers for their children.

Parents expect regular progress reports. Make a point of spending a few minutes each week to discuss the child’s progress with the parent.

If you have to change or re-arrange a lesson please let the student or parent know well advance – at least 24 hours ahead if possible. Don’t leave it until the last minute.

Do not forsake the student when his / her examinations are drawing near. You need to help the student until the examination is over.

Keep the phone numbers of both parents & student accessible in a booklet or cell-phone.

Failure to turn up for the given & accepted assignment.
It is fair for you to inform the Agency immediately; otherwise it is fair for the Agency to bill you of the lost commission, that is, 50% of the four weeks assignment fee.

·         If you are in any way treated unfairly.
·         Be committed to the tuition assignment for at least ONE month. An administration fee of $50 will be imposed if you failed to do so.

If you foresee that you are going to be more than 10 minutes late for lessons then it courteous to let the student or parent know in advance.

If you are going through a topic with the student, and you see that the lesson time is complete, spend a few minutes to finish what you are doing. Don’t finish the lesson abruptly in mid-topic!
